Right... Everything I know about drawing/painting/design is picked up from art classes in school, books, and the art portion of the history courses in college. I'm definately open to comments and suggestions in improving my work~

Wait a minute! I don't remember anything about Renee trained in the fine arts??
Author or Artist? Why not both?
The idea that I can illustrate for my own work seeded itself a decade prior. I met someone who wrote a children's story before I left for Japan. She liked my drawing style and asked me to illustrate for her book. Though that book never came to light, it got me thinking about working as an illustrator. Fast forward to when I was searching for books for my then 7-year-old to read, I came upon the biography of Natalie Babbitt, author of Tuck Everlasting. She started as an illustrator to her husband's work, then ended up writing the books as well when her husband was unable to. Her experience gave me the vision to be both the writer and the artist...
